چکیده

Multicellular rosettes have recently been appreciated as important cellular intermediates that are observed during the formation of diverse organ systems. These rosettes are polarized, transient epithelial structures that sometimes recapitulate the form of the adult organ. Rosette formation has been studied in various developmental contexts, such as in the zebrafish lateral line primordium, the vertebrate pancreas, the Drosophila epithelium and retina, as well as in theadult neural stemcell niche.Thesestudieshave revealed that the cytoskeletal rearrangements responsible for rosette formation appear to be conserved. By contrast, the extracellular cues that trigger these rearrangements in vivo are less well understood and aremore diverse. Here, we review recent studies of the genetic regulation and cellular transitions involved in rosette formation. We discuss and compare specific models for rosette formation and highlight outstanding questions in the field.

Complete Genome Sequence of Microcystis aeruginosa NIES-2549, a Bloom-Forming Cyanobacterium from Lake Kasumigaura, Japan

Microcystis aeruginosa NIES-2549 is a freshwater bloom-forming cyanobacterium isolated from Lake Kasumigaura, Japan. We report the complete 4.29-Mbp genome sequence of NIES-2549 and its annotation and discuss the genetic diversity of M. aeruginosa strains. This is the third genome sequence of M. aeruginosa isolated from Lake Kasumigaura.

Tobacco mosaic virus replicase-auxin/indole acetic acid protein interactions: reprogramming the auxin response pathway to enhance virus infection.

The replicase protein of Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) disrupts the localization and stability of interacting auxin/indole acetic acid (Aux/IAA) proteins in Arabidopsis, altering auxin-mediated gene regulation and promoting disease development (M. S. Padmanabhan, S. P. Goregaoker, S. Golem, H. Shiferaw, and J. N. Culver, J. Virol. 79:2549-2558, 2005). In this study, a similar replicase-Aux/IAA int...

RSR-tree: A Dynamic Multi-dimensional Index Structure

A new dynamic multi-dimensional index structure called RSR-tree is proposed, in which splitting operations of leaf nodes and non-leaf nodes are performed separatively. RSR-tree retains the sequence ordering of index records in a leaf node of RS-tree and thus reduces the addressing time cost of disk access while reading data files. In addition, it integrates the characteristic of reducing the ov...

A Communication-aware Scheduling Algorithm for Hardware Task Scheduling Model on FPGA-based Reconfigurable Systems

Task scheduling is an important aspect of high performance reconfigurable computing. Most of the heuristics for this NP-hard problem are based on a simple abstract model of FPGA and have little investigation into optimizing data communication which influences the system performance importantly. To solve this problem, a Communication-aware Maximum Adjacent Edges (CA-MAE) algorithm based on new 2...
